Warner Brothers trademarks HARRY POTTER Quidditch

What does Warner Bros have planned? It looks like they are setting certain Harry Potter projects aside.

Warner Bros. is cooking up something big for their Harry Potter franchise. They definitely aren’t done with it. On top of the spinoff Potter movie being written by J.K. Rowling, based on her faux textbook, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the studio has locked in some more trademarks that hint at some other films and forms of entertainment we might see for the franchise. One of which might lead to a sports movie that centers on Quidditch, which would be awesome! According to Bleeding Cool the registered trademarks include…

The other spinoff mini-book Quidditch Through The Ages.

The Quidditch teams Wimbourne Wasps, Chudley Cannons, Kenmare Kestrels.

The Quidditch expert Kennilworthy Whisp, and fictitious author of Quidditch Through The Ages.

Newt Scamander, the fictitious author of Fantastic Beasts.

The Potter book-within-a-book Tales Of Beedle The Bard.

Are you intrigued by what some are speculating to be a Quidditch movie?

J.K. Rowling to have full screenplay rights for HARRY POTTER spin-off

Fear no more, Potterheads.

According to THR, Rowling will write the screenplay for the first film all herself, and if WB wants another screenwriter to rewrite it, Rowling will have to approve the process.

As for the rest of the films in the series, Rowling will have script approval, so even if she is not writing the film herself, she will ultimately dictate the direction in which the series goes.

It seems that Rowling’s full vision will be realized for this film series.

HARRY POTTER Fantastic Beasts spin-off series will have accompanying video games

Not only have new Potter movies been announced, but the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series will be available on multiple interactive platforms.

Video games based on the popular Harry Potter films were developed and published by Electronic Arts. It is unclear if Warner Bros. will develop the new Fantastic Beasts games internally through its Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment label or license them out.

No release date for the theatrical release of the first Fantastic Beasts movie was announced, nor were details regarding platforms for the tie-in games.

It’s early days yet, but based on the hype surrounding the films, game companies will be eager to get the rights for any Potter-themed project.
