Tom Felton on TV: ‘Murder In The First’

The Potter actor will play Erich Blunt, a conceited, rich CEO of a tech company.

According to Deadline, the 25-year-old Harry Potter actor has joined the cast of TNT’s drama pilot Murder In The First as a series regular.

The show is a murder mystery that centers on San Francisco PD homicide detectives Terry Seagrave (Taye Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Kathleen Robertson), as they take on a case that seems more like a maze.

Guide to Grint: Rupert pursues new projects

While the “Ron” actor seemed to take a break from fame compared to the busy schedules of his costars, he has a lot of exciting ventures in the works.

Check out this new pic of Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome for CBGB!

Also starring Ashley Greene as Lisa Kristal, the flick tells the story of Hilly Kristal (Alan Rickman) and his New York club from its conceit as a venue for Country, Bluegrass and Blues (CBGB) to what it ultimately became: the birthplace of underground rock ‘n roll and punk.

When Kristal had difficulty booking country bands in his club on the Bowery he opened his doors to other kinds of rock music. Kristal had one demand of the acts he booked; they could only play original music. No top 40s, no covers. It was the credo he lived by, support the artist at whatever the cost.

CBGB is set to open later this year.

ComingSoon.net has a first look at a clip from Magnolia Pictures’ Into the White, the war drama starring Rupert Grint (“Harry Potter” films), David Kross, Stig Henrik Hoff, Florian Lukas and Lachlan Nieboer.

At the beginning of World War II, a hostile chance encounter in the skies above the harsh Norwegian wilderness leaves two aircraft—one British, one German—shot down in a remote and isolated region. By strange coincidence, the crews seek shelter in the same cabin. They must battle to survive the brutal winter in order to get back to the war—and to fighting one another. Although war has made them enemies, as the days go by, animosity proves hard to maintain. Mutual need leads to unlikely friendships, and the rules of war must be put aside.

Into the White is now available On Demand and in theaters.

Finally, although Grint’s work with Ed Sheeran on Ed’s “Lego House” video is old news, designer Dylan Woodley has created a new version, with actual Legos, that mirrors the original.

Rupert Grint and Matthew Lewis discuss friendship, moments from the Potter films

While the movies may be in the past, little behind-the-scenes moments can be dredged up by interviews like this.

Matt, on Rupert’s Kiss with Emma Watson: “He also showed versatility in how he developed the love story [with Emma’s Hermione Granger]. Though when it finally came to his kiss with Emma, we ripped him for it; as attractive as she is, he was not looking forward to it.”

Rupert, on Matt’s transformation: “Even in the fourth film, poor Matt still had some crappy fat suit, prosthetic teeth and things to make his ears stick out, so people thought that was how he looked, but underneath he had changed. For me, that contrast was clearest in the final film, when he did this big speech in a courtyard and you thought, ‘Where did that come from?’ It was a great moment. I noticed, too, the change in public awareness – overnight he became a sex symbol and it was nice for Matt to have his moment. He gave me a bit of stick with the kissing scenes with Emma, though, as back in the day he had a little thing with her.”

Matt, on Rupert getting the giggles: “Rupert was great at making everyone laugh on set. There was one scene in which he had to come on and say, “Back off, unless you want a fistful of Weasley,” which was a direct quote from the book. But Rupert couldn’t say it, and he broke out in an infectious laugh; every time he tried to do the scene we all got the giggles, too – until the director was like, “This just isn’t working, let’s scrap the line and move on.” We’d wasted an entire day filming because of Rupert’s laugh. In the early films he was all about making an audience laugh, too – he has such great facial expressions.”

Rupert, on food fights on film: “I’ll never forget one moment in the work canteen when we started throwing peas at each other. They ended up flying towards a certain Slytherin’s table – we always sat separately – and it escalated. I got threatened by one of the gentlemen, and there was a big chase with me, Matt and the Slytherins all round the studio. I was really quite scared as they were big guys, but he had my back.”

Daniel Radcliffe dives in to social media

And of course he got a Google+… The one social media website no one seems to be using.

Daniel Radcliffe fans can rejoice because the Harry Potter star has finally joined the world of social media!

The 23-year-old actor shared exclusively with MTV News that he has created a Google+ page.

“This has mainly come about because of the amount of people that I meet who tell me that they have contacted me on Twitter or Facebook when I know that’s impossible — because I don’t belong to either one of those sites,” Dan shared with MTV News about his latest online venture.

Emma Watson plans on returning to college

Emma has been enrolled at Brown University in the past, but has taken two breaks from her studies for her acting career. Now she’s hoping to hit the books.

After years of working in front of the spotlight, Emma Watson is heading on to her next big plan- going back to school.

“Hermione” will soon go from studying scripts to studying text books. The “Harry Potter” star plans to return to college early next year to finally complete her degree.

According to Gossip Cop, the British actress, 22, will rejoin undergraduate life at Brown University in Rhode Island in January for the spring semester. Watson had returned back to a familiar spot – the Ivy League school where she originally enrolled last September 2009, and put her studies on hold in 2011 to focus on promoting the final installment in the “Harry Potter” franchise.  Instead of returning to Brown right away, she then spent a semester abroad at Oxford University in fall 2011 where she met her boyfriend Will Adamowicz. She then took another break from school to film “The Bling Ring” last spring and “Noah” this fall.

When Watson first left Brown, she guaranteed her fans that she planned to return to Providence. “As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything, but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student and fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible,” the actress – best known for playing bookworm Hermione Granger in “Potter” – posted on her blog at the time. “I will still be working towards my degree. It’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought.”

It looks like Emma wants to embrace her Hermione side.
